Meet Irene

My Story

Irene’s father was killed in a car accident when she was still very young.  For a while, Irene and her siblings lived under the care of their widowed mother.

Eventually Irene’s mother remarried.  However, Irene’s step-father began to mistreat Irene and her siblings and ultimately refused to provide for them.  Irene and her siblings were forced to live with an aunt in a different city, but even this aunt was unable to provide sufficient food and money for school fees.  Instead of studying, Irene was forced to sell water on the streets to earn a small amount of income.

Irene’s sister became very ill one day and, in desperation, Irene and her siblings returned to their mother and step-father’s home.  Even then, Irene’s sister did not receive proper medical care and soon passed away.

Irene is now under the full care of new hope.  She is eating well, attending school and sleeping in a safe environment.  With your help we can continue to provide Irene with all her nutritional, educational and medical needs.  To sponsor Irene, please click the “donate now” button below.
