My Story
Carol’s father died of AIDS before she was old enough to recognize him. Her mother, who is HIV positive, earns a small amount of money by digging in a neighbor’s garden. Carrol lived with her mom and fetched water for her family and washed dishes to earn money. She slept on a papyrus mat with her sister.
Carol moved to New Hope in February 2008, and is now under the full care of New Hope. She dreams of becoming a nurse one day so that she can treat sick people.
