My Story

Asina lost her father to HIV/AIDS when she was only 2 years old, and her mother is often bedridden with the disease. Life became very difficult after the death of Asina's father. Asina and her siblings were taken to live with an aunt in Jinja, but the aunt’s financial situation deteriorated and she sent the children back to their sickly mother. Asina would often go hungry because her mother could not raise enough support from the small garden she owns.

Asina is now under New Hope's full care. She dreams of finishing school and becoming a nurse.
